Workshops are paid half-day or whole-day education sessions that typically involve hands-on applications, or clinical practice topics. Workshops take place in-person at the Guest House at Graceland in Memphis, TN. You have the opportunity to attend an additional workshop (at an additional fee) on October 3. Workshop (WS) credit is awarded as follows: 4-hour WS = 3.5 CEs; 8-hour WS = 6.5
Leading a Midwifery Practice: How and Why

Participants will receive a workbook which includes all workshop slides, example forms for processes discussed, and worksheets to outline their own next steps and action plans.
Reframing II: A High-fidelity Low-tech Home Birth Clinical Simulation Experience

For practitioners ranging from hospital-based providers who receive home birth transfers but would never practice in the home setting, to those who are planning to make the switch.
Picture this: you are in charge of two people’s well-being. There is no blue button on the wall. You have everything you need to attend a safe, satisfying, affirming birth. You have an intimate personal relationship with your client. You take care of one birthing person at a time. You practice according to your own practice guidelines–there is no institutional authority you have to consult to see what is “allowed.”
This experiential workshop provides a hands-on overview of what it means to practice midwifery in the home setting, including useful skills for home practice, management of emergencies at home, and seamless transfers from home to hospital. This workshop is also an extension of Reframing l.
